Giving

I am SO excited to share this with anyone who reads this blog.  I want to share this on a personal level, so I will start from the beginning....
One night shortly after my nephew Dylan had been diagnosed, our sweet friend Cyndi, who was fighting her own battle with cancer, rang the doorbell.  She and her children were standing there with a giant tree full of dollar bills and gift cards to restaurants etc.  It was an emotional and beautiful experience.  She was going through something horrible, yet she reached out and made someone else's day...week...month(s)!  It was so amazing how excited Dylan was about the tree.  Not only was it amazing, but he was so excited about the tree, he wanted to give one to someone else.....and he knew just who.  Tyler Smith had also recently been diagnosed with cancer.  We couldn't wait to gather up goods to put on the tree.  Dylan even had a bake/lemonade sell for hours to earn money to put on the tree.  It was such a fun day even though  Dylan was so sick at this point.  It was only two weeks before he passed away, but doing this for Tyler brought him absolute happiness.  He was SO excited!

Receiving the tree was equally as exciting for Tyler, and he decided to pass it on.  The tree has been passed on to at least five different children fighting for their lives.  What a gift.
These sweet boys, Dylan and Tyler, have passed away....but we want to continue bringing happiness to those fighting this horrible disease.  We want to take the "Giving Trees"  to as many children as possible, so here is our plan... We are joining with the Smith Family (F2TF) & Anything for a Friend to put on an AMAZING benefit concert and dinner.   Here are the details-

Happy 4th of July!!  Our friends in the neighborhood did a yummy breakfast & flag ceremony, and ended with a candy cannon.  It was early, but super fun!  We spent the rest of the day with family & just hanging out!  Love the USA!!

The twins turn SIX

I started this blog almost six years ago to document the lives of my sweet girls. Sadly, my time is spread between four children and a full time job from home now...and journaling our life hasn't been happening.
Their birthday morning after breakfast and opening presents, I sat down with the girls to look through their photo books I have made for them. As we read through the newborn one, they loved all the stories I had written with the photos. At the end I had written them a special letter telling them our feelings about finding out they were coming, being pregnant, having them born, and of course how much we loved them. After I was done reading I looked over at Lauren and she had a big smile and tears running down her face.... I was so caught off guard. "thanks mommy, I love that." she said. At that moment I realized how important and special it is for our children to read and hear about their lives. I feel guilty my other kids don't have the same amount as the twins do,but I can start now. It was a perfect way for us to celebrate their special day!
They have been asking for a new bike for over a year now so we finally got them one! They were thrilled and ride it so well already. Yesterday I took Ella to the store to buy them a gift and after not finding any great make up for them, she settled on new binders. These girls are obsessed with drawing, writing, coloring, etc. Their old binders have been used so much they are falling apart. They were SO excited to get new ones, and by binders... I mean trapper keepers :) I loved letting Ella get them a gift because it made her excited about them opening presents instead of jealous.  It was a relaxing morning!

Later on we went to meet Ryan for lunch!  The girls picked Zupas.  They are obsessed with the Cauliflower soup.  After lunch we headed over to TJ Maxx to spend some birthday money they had gotten from Grandparents.  They are so funny when they are trying to choose.  You would think they were making a million dollar decision rather than the $10.00 they are about to spend.  It takes FOREVER!  Surprise!... they both ended up with crafty paper/pencils etc.
After shopping we went to get some yummy cupcakes...BUT the cupcake shop was SOLD OUT.  How does that happen?  Especially to the birthday girls.  We decided going to Toads and Zeppes was a better idea anyway.  Ryan's family joined us.  It's always fun for them to spend time with those cousins because they only get to see them once a year.

It was a special day celebrating these special little girls.  I can't believe how lucky we are to have them.  They are sweet and so excited about life.  They love their sister, brother,  friends, making "crafts" and dancing.  It is so fun to watch them grow.  We love them so much!!!

Snuggle time

We are all loving every second we get snuggling this sweet baby!! The only ad part is that's all he wants... To be held ALL the time! (but I secretly don't mind :) )

Cohen's room

It was so much fun designing a room for a boy! I started to panic a little when the dark navy was going up on the walls... But I love how it turned out. The white wall (that my amazing husband created) helps keep the room light. The artwork I designed after searching and searching for just the right thing. Well, it didn't exist out there, so I went to work on my computer and voila. :) I love it and think it is the perfect fit for his room!! I love spending time in there with him, feeding and snuggling him on the rocker. What a lucky mom I am!!!
