Well it's been a long time since I've actually written more than just a one liner with a picture. The last few days I've been thinking a lot. Not about anything specific...just thinking. I want to be a lot of things I haven't quite become. I want to be a really clean organized person. That has never been my forte, but I'm kind of good at arranging junk in corners, or making clutter look cute? That's what I try to tell myself, but instead maybe I'll just practice bringing out my OCD clean & organized self. I realize this could be an impossible task to conquer considering the current condition at my house 2 year olds = big fat messes. They never stop! So we'll see how this works:) The other thing I am wanting to do is activities with the twins. Anyone have any great ideas or resources? Crafts.food. anything that might make their lives a little more fun! (I realize this isn't going to help with my clean plan but oh well) I know they enjoy playing together and watching shows, but I'd really like to give them something else.
The other thing is my baby. She is growing, smiling, and making noises. At first I resisted loving it because I just want her to stay little and new. Today I've decided to embrace it. I talked to her a lot to encourage her to talk back, and it worked. She is so cute and snuggly. When she yelps (that's the only word I can think of to explain the sounds she makes) she scrunches her nose and smiles really big. I love it. She is also becoming aware of her sisters. She responds to the noises they make or when they are singing to her she stares and occasionally smiles. It's fun for me to see that even just plain sisters (not twins) have a sweet bond and love for each other. I am lucky
I have added as many bright colors to my kitchen as I could the last month or so. Yesterday I even bought myself some tulips at the grocery store. Something about fresh flowers on the counter makes me happy! and now that I think of it I think that might be my reward to myself for taking 3 kids to the store...fresh flowers. I think I really like that idea. Perfect.
That's about all I can think of that I've been thinking about- nothing too exciting but my thoughts. Maybe if I paint my downstairs bathroom a bright fun color it will make spring really come and stay? I'll give it a try:)

I think we all have a list of things we want to be better at. I know I do. And I have discovered that no matter how picky I get about my house being clean, it doesn't stay that way!
Here are some ideas for things to do with your girls. I really like http://www.notimeforflashcards.com/for craft ideas. She has a lot of crafts and songs that are really easy but cute. Also, a membership to Treehouse Museum is very affordable. We go there at least once a week, and the kids love it.
you are so cute! i love that you bought flowers! every week at the grocery store, i stand for two minutes looking at the tulips wondering if i should get them, then i talk myself out of it. i think i will this week!!
good luck with the clean factor with kids. i am very OCD, but have REALLY relaxed (maybe it is pregnancy??)...my living room is always a disaster! but bobby is happy. :) when i was in utah, the treehouse museum was fun, parks are always a hit, playdoh, painting, and lots of sparkles!
and i just adore ella. i have never met her, but her eyes show that she is so wise. i think she is an old soul. what a darling!
Here's my ideas: Crayola has some great washable paints. They really do come off anything. And my 2 y/o loves for me to use glue and glitter too. Play dough always entertains for a little while, also.
You can also get some beads and make braclets with them. They can pick out which beads they want you to use. Or you can get the bigger beads and those bendy pipe cleaner things and the girls can string them themselves.
My girl also likes to bake with me. She had a lot of fun decorating cupcakes/cookies with candy and sprinkles. She also just likes to stir the batter of anything I make. Mostly she likes to eat it, though.
But soon it will be warm enough to be outside and we will be playing in the dirt (aka gardening) and doing bubbles outside and going for walks, etc. It doesn't have to be something big an elaborate. They will enjoy spending time with you no matter what you are doing.
This is a great blog with fun ideas to do with kids. http://www.notimeforflashcards.com/
My sister-in-law does something really fun with her boys. She has a "letter" that she does each week. So then you think of something fun to do that begins with the letter "A" and then "B" and then "C"...it helps them to learn their letters and also do some fun activities that begins with those letters. Have fun!!!
we are so much the same. i love you.
Something that my kids LOVE especially Caleb is a couple of websites called starfall.com and pbskids.org. Starfall is a website for pre-preschool age kids up to beginner readers. There are sections that go over every letter in the alphabet and it shows uppercase, lowercase and makes the sounds of each letter on each page. It is REALLY easy for kids to play alot of the things by themselves. I first started playing starfall.com with Caleb when he was 2 and I just played along with him for a little bit while Claire was sleeping for a couple of weeks and then he would play it by himself after a while. It is easy for little kids to learn how computers work and learn how to handle the mouse, they make the buttons really big so it is easy for kids to click on them. Now Caleb has gone through the alphabet and they then have sections for putting letters together to make small words and then a section for small books and everything else. It is a great little website.
PBSkids.org is alot of the same thing but it is more just for fun and until the kids have learned how to use the mouse you have to play with them more.
We also really like getting an "end roll" from the local newspaper. You could just go to the standard examiner and ask for an "end roll". It is just the end of the blank rolls of paper for the newspaper. They usually only cost like $2 and it is a TON of wide long paper. I bought ours a year ago and have not even made it halfway through the roll. I just roll it out onto the table while cooking dinner and let the kids go at it with crayons and finger paints and stuff or you could tape it to the wall and draw their figures standing up.
You also could just teach your girls about cleaning things. Caleb loved to help me load laundry into the washer or put the silverware away I would just put one spoon, fork and butter knife where they were suppose to go and then let him figure out where the rest of the things go by finding matches. It teaches them to clean and makes a game out of it. I'm all about letting him think their playing when really they are cleaning. Whenever my floors get dirty but I'm not in the mood to hardcore scrub my floors I always just pull out a couple of old towels and wet them down and then let my kids stand on the towels and scoot across the floor with some music on. They are wiping up my floors, exercising, and having fun at the same time and I'm happy because my kitchen is somewhat clean again!!
Sorry that was really long. I just wanted to give you a few ideas. We always struggle with things to do, Caleb is old enough that he needs activities but he's not in preschool yet so its hard.
Good luck!!

Chelsea,
My birthday wish was that one day Jason and I would have kids as stinkin' cute as yours...and I'm not just saying that! Oh, no! I told you and now my wish won't come true. I'll keep checking here for motivation anyways, maybe Jase and I will get lucky.
Ok, so I added a bunch of new blogs that I found on my list of Links on my Blog (I hope that made sense)! These ladies are amazing and their kids stay so entertained. You should check them out.
